Recently STI dealer Playrite installed some new synthetic turf at the infamous Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, TN.

Playrite initiated contact with Dollywood, because while Jesse Smithey was there with his family he noticed four tree planter areas that had 8 x 8 squares of rundown turf at the trees’ bases.

Smithey stated, “I knew STI could produce better turf, so I set up a meeting with the Dollywood property staff. Before I could even mention this, they rolled out designs of their new County Fair area in the kids’ section of the park.”

Dollywood was planning to remove a ride in this designated area and wanted a resilient surface that could look good aesthetically and also handle heavy foot traffic – while still meshing with the overall farm feel and design.

Playrite ended up installing green Fresh Cut Pro and some brown path turf that could channel through the barn they installed.

The end result: the 4,000-square-foot turf project has become a popular gathering spot in that portion of the park, where kids and family can sit in the grass and relax and take a break.
